The Room Poet started as a simple little idea I couldn’t get out of my head. Then it began harassing me during the most inappropriate times. And when I tried to block it out, it just heckled, and worked it even harder for my undivided attention, until I could no longer ignore it. It had persisted for far too long, to the point where I inevitably gave in, and answered back. First, I hunted for the most important piece of the puzzle – the old typewriter. The first one I found was/is a 1953 Remington Office Riter, exceptionally vintage, and fully operational. Those are the only requirements as far as I’m concerned. Then I started planning, gathering supplies, building this website, creating an entire business in the background of my chaotic life. Will it work? I’m not as concerned as I would’ve been in the past. All my decades of trial and error have taught me an important truth – you can always start over and try again.
It’s happening. It’s coming. Not quite yet. But soon.
Cheers
